Our new identity

We are pleased to announce that on Monday 1st July 2024, a number of corporate changes, including our new branding, have gone live.

We have a new name, Wandsworth GP Federation, and an updated strapline “Working Together for Better Health and Care.”

We believe the new brand captures more accurately what we are about as an organisation, what we do and the impact our work has.

Over ten years since the formation of Battersea Healthcare, in the autumn of 2023 the Board led a review of our corporate structure, mission and purpose, to ensure that:

  • Our vision for the future, our mission statement & role as partners in the local health and care system are relevant and clearly described.
  • We have a name that better reflects our role in supporting general practice and delivering services across the whole borough of Wandsworth.
  • We update our Articles of Association to ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • We have fairness and equity in shareholder arrangements, with every GP practice in Wandsworth holding equal status in supporting the work and future governance of the Federation.

What has changed?

Following a period of discussion and consultation with our shareholder GP Practices, a number of changes to our corporate working arrangements were unanimously agreed, including to:

  • adopt a new mission statement for the organisation
  • reform the Federation as one Community Interest Company
  • adopt new Articles of Association
  • re-name the organisation as Wandsworth GP Federation CIC
  • Reform shareholding arrangements based on one share per GP practice in Wandsworth

The changes were formally introduced from 15th April 2024
