This programme of three 2 hour Microsoft Teams sessions will give clear and practical guidance on how to support, monitor and treat people who have had COVID-19 with cardiac manifestations. By learning more about how COVID-19 affects the heart and by focussing on evidence-based care you will learn how to best manage these people in primary care.

Learning Outcomes:

  • to understand how COVID-19 affects the heart and who is most at risk
  • to understand how drugs are used to treat COVID-19 and the controversies around some medications
  • to understand heart failure in the context of COVID-19 and how people are assessed, treated and self- managed
  • to understand atrial fibrillation in the context of COVID-19 and how people are assessed, treated and managed
  • to understand secondary prevention and rehab therapies examining key messages in managing CVD risk factors for people recovering from COVID-19
  • to understand self-management strategies and how we can support people to best self-manage their conditions
