Community Phlebotomy Service for Housebound (Non CAHS) Patients

As the service name indicates it is available for housebound (non CAHS) patients and is for phlebotomy and blood pressures delivered by Healthcare Support Workers.

Appointment Availability

The service operates Monday to Friday.

Please note that this has been commissioned as a separate service from the usual caseload and the community nursing teams within CAHS will remain unable to accept referrals for non-CAHS patients.

Requesting a visit

  1. Please telephone CAHS Access & Coordination (A&C) hub on 020 8812 5000 requesting the Community Phlebotomy Service for a housebound patient.  The next available slot will be offered (once all slots are used for that particular day, another day will need to be selected).
  2. Please send the bloods request form to CAHS by:

Fax: 020 8812 5001

Home visit

The Healthcare Support Worker will telephone the patient to agree the time of the visit.

The bloods will then be dropped off at the near GP practice for processing in the usual way.
